Nolensville and BHS-BA-USN meet November 2 at 4:45 p.m. on Centennial Sportsplex's Rink A in a GNASH matchup between teams coming off victories.
The Knights enter at 4-2-2, while the combined Brentwood High, Brentwood Academy and University School of Nashville team stands at 5-3-1.
Nolensville has won four straight after going winless through its first four games. Its latest victory, a 2-0 decision over Rutherford Rampage on October 28, showed it can win a tight contest. Jack Jesse opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game, carrying the puck from his own zone before finishing from the left circle. Ben Campbell added insurance late in the third period. The Knights' improvement extends beyond those two scorers. Before the Rampage game, ten different players had scored during Nolensville's previous three victories.
That balance presents a challenge for a Bruins defense that cannot afford to focus on one line or one shooter. BHS-BA-USN answered a 6-2 loss to Ravenwood with a 7-2 victory over Ensworth-Lipscomb-CPA. Sebastian Fournier delivered his first GNASH hat trick, two days after recording his first league goal.
Jacob Ellsworth also scored his first GNASH goal, joining Henry Sloane, Jonny Kelso and Jayden Charnparnichkarn on the scoresheet. The Bruins have established threats, too. Entering the Ravenwood game, freshman Brecken Akright had eight goals, Beckett Mickle had six and Jack Riley led the team with eight assists. Benjamin Marshall had three goals and four assists.
Those totals predate the Bruins' two most recent games, but show the depth behind their latest breakout performers. The matchup could turn on coverage around the crease. Nolensville must limit rebounds and second chances, while the Bruins need to track attackers driving toward the net.
Defenseman Bryce Akright and goaltender Andrew Sallee are players to watch for BHS-BA-USN. For the Knights, the opportunity is to make it five straight. For the Bruins, it is a chance to sustain their offensive response against a confident opponent.
