Standout Performances

A standout performance is an effort that rises above expectations and makes a meaningful difference for a team. It shows determination, leadership, and a willingness to do the difficult work teammates depend on. What makes the performance stand out is the combination of achievement, effort, and impact when the team needs it most.

For Franklin High School’s Aubry Gates, a standout career has been built through repeated performances that give her team an edge. The senior forward, wearing No. 12, has made scoring a defining part of her contribution to the Admirals—and the published numbers show how productive she has become.

As a junior in 2025, Gates recorded 36 goals and 12 assists while helping Franklin reach the Class AAA state semifinals. Those figures describe more than a dangerous finisher. Alongside her scoring, a dozen assists demonstrate her contribution to creating opportunities for teammates. Her ability to both finish and provide the final pass gave Franklin multiple ways to benefit from her attacking play.

Her senior season raised the standard again. Franklin’s latest published MaxPreps totals list Gates with 47 goals, nine assists and 103 points in 2026. Combined with her junior campaign, that amounts to 83 goals and 21 assists across just two seasons.

The significance of her senior scoring extends into Franklin’s history. Gates reached 47 goals with two first-half strikes in a 5–1 state quarterfinal victory over Stewarts Creek. That total surpassed the program’s single-season record established by Jenger (Burchett) Parrish in 1992, connecting Gates’s achievement with a benchmark that had stood for more than three decades.

Gates’s athlete profile also lists District 10-AAA Offensive MVP recognition in 2024 and 2025, along with All-Midstate honors. The Kansas State commitment will carry that experience into the next stage of her soccer career. At Franklin, her record offers a clear picture of sustained attacking production: goals scored, chances created and contributions to consecutive state semifinal runs. Her place among the program’s standout performers rests on accomplishments that extend well beyond one memorable game.

FRANKLIN VOLLEYBALL WINS STATE

“It really is hard to comprehend, but I know we are all just so grateful,” said Myhr, who like Garner is a three-year starter. “We’ve been doing this so long and this is something we have all dreamed about. It’s just so special.”
