To me the best thing about sports photography is the eyes. Often sports photographers want to get "The Big Play," (whatever that is) and don't care if it has eyes as long as the action creates a great look.

To me it's more about, "What are they thinking, feeling, expecting," all of that comes from the eyes! The beauty is ...you will never know...all you can do is imagine what they are thinking.

So remember if you have a picture with no action but wondering eyes , and you have a picture with no eyes but a great play... well you make the call.
